Duke of Edinburgh Award




The Duke of Edinburgh award is open for anyone to take part in and is run by an independant charity. Its aim is to give young people the chance to develop skills for work and life, to fulfil their potential and have a brighter future. The Duke of Edinburgh scheme comprises 90% of the requirements for the Chief Scouts and Queens Scout Awards in the Explorer and Network sections of Scouting

The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme is available in 3 different levels, each one requiring more commitment.

The Bronze is the first challenge and comprises 4 different sections. Volunteering, Physical and Skills with a 2 day / 1 night expedition

The Silver is the Second challenge and comprises 4 different sections. Volunteering, Physical and Skills with a 3 day / 2 night expedition

The Gold is the Third challenge and comprises 5 different sections. Volunteering, Physical and Skills with a 4 day / 3 night expedition. The additional activity is a 5 day / 4 night residential activity
